marisa malzone (dancer, artistic collaborator)
Marisa grew up in Tampa, FL, where she spent most of her early years in a ballet studio. She was first introduced to modern dance at New York University and continued to study throughout the city at places like Movement Research, The Limon Institute, and the Trisha Brown Studio. During her time in NYC, she performed in a variety of dance festivals at venues such as the Judson Church and White Wave. She was certified in Pilates in 2007 and has taught in New York, Hawaii, and now Colorado, where she lives with her husband, their two kids, and two snorty pugs. Shortly after moving to Boulder in 2016, Marisa began working with Jenny Schiff and joined the Schiff Dance Collective for their final season. When she is not momming, teaching, or dancing, she is working towards a Master’s degree in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine. This is her first season with CBDC, and she is so excited to be a part of this amazing community of dancers!
